Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs ground turkey
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes, drained
- 1/2 cup sugar-free ketchup
- 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 6 slices cooked turkey turkey turkey bacon, crumbled
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet, brown ground turkey over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
- Add the chopped onion and green bell pepper to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the drained diced tomatoes, sugar-free ketchup, yellow mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- In a separate bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and sour cream until smooth. Fold in 1 cup of the cheddar cheese and 1/2 cup of the mozzarella cheese.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Pour the turkey mixture over the cream cheese layer. Sprinkle with the remaining cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the casserole is heated through.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle with crumbled turkey turkey turkey bacon. Let stand for 5-10 minutes before serving.
Notes
For added flavor, try adding a dash of hot sauce to the turkey mixture. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave. You can substitute ground beef or chicken for ground turkey. For a spicier kick, add some chopped jalapeños to the turkey mixture.
